Classical training, brought into a studio built around performance
American Ballet Russe is a New York ballet company. Streetcar Studio has worked with their artists before — our co-founder Anoushka Nesterova has performed and taught alongside the company — and this program brings that training directly into our Upper East Side studio.
The partnership means your child learns classical ballet from company-level teaching artists, in a studio built around performance: Streetcar's students rehearse and share the stage with working professionals every semester.

About the Program
Ballet is where technique begins. Posture, turnout, coordination, musicality, the patience to repeat something until it becomes easy — these are the foundations every other form of dance and stage work is built on, and they are best learned early, in a room where precision is expected and encouraged.
Our ballet program runs in partnership with American Ballet Russe. Classes follow a classical structure — barre work, centre, and across-the-floor — scaled to each age group, so a three-year-old spends the hour discovering how their body moves through space while a nine-year-old is working on real placement, épaulement, and combinations that carry across the studio.
Groups stay small so every child is corrected by name. There is no audition and no prior experience required — beginners are welcome in every age group, and children who already dance elsewhere are welcome to use these classes as supplementary technique training.
