Acting & Public Speaking acting and public speaking for ages 8–14 on the Upper East Side

Our Acting & Public Speaking class helps children develop their acting skills, express themselves with confidence, and feel more comfortable speaking in front of others. Through practical actor training, students explore voice, breath, movement, and improvisation while learning to be present and express themselves freely.

Classic acting exercises help students release tension, develop body awareness, and connect with the moment. Voice and breath work build clarity and control, while individual, partner, and group improvisation strengthen listening, quick thinking, and creative expression.

Throughout the course, students work with an original piece of text, developing their own interpretation and learning to bring it to life through voice, movement, and expression. The course culminates in a performance that allows each student to share their work with confidence and individuality.

Designed for children ages 8 and up, this class builds acting technique and communication skills in a supportive, creative environment – on stage and beyond.
