About This Class
Our dance program introduces children to movement and physical storytelling. The course begins with the fundamentals of classical dance, helping children develop body awareness, coordination, musicality, and proper technique. That classical base is what everything else is built on — from there the work grows into modern dance, contemporary, and tap. It then progresses to learning original choreography for this semester's production, allowing students to transform their technical skills into performance week by week.
Using age-appropriate teaching methods, our teachers emphasize proper form while encouraging personal artistic expression. Children learn to express emotions through movement while developing strength, flexibility, confidence, and quality of movement.
