Evgeniy Grebnev is an electronic music composer, church bell ringer, and founder of The Jazz Pilgrim, an experimental music initiative based in Chelyabinsk. His artistic practice centers on exploring the beauty and stillness of the night through a distinctive approach that combines vintage analog technology with live acoustic instruments using what he describes as an 'alchemical' method of blending opposites.
For The Mutt—his theatrical debut—Grebnev created an original score through extensive field recording, live instrumentation layering, and carefully crafted percussive and synthesized elements. The resulting work is described as cinematic, contemplative, and deeply rooted in the physical and spiritual worlds evoked by the production, which adapts Dostoevsky's The Brothers Karamazov.
